Got2b glued?

Hi everyone I have thick frizzy wavy short hair and when I try 2 spike my hair it doesnt stay up or even look straight do you think got2b glued would help or should I try a male hair straightener like GHD IV Mini styler : http://www.ghdhair.com/uk/iv-mini-styler.php or should I just keep cutting it tight? thanks for any useful help
