What were the following used for? and when, Dolly blue bags, poss sticks, mangles and carbolic soap?

Some of your terminology is different to how I know them by e.g. a dolly - a contraption used to punch washing in the tub to maximise the agitation, blue bags - these were used in a white wash to give whites the appearance of being whiter, mangles , Victorian metal framed mangles were used right up to the 1950's and beyond to squeeze water out of wet washing, carbolic soap - made from coal tar and known to be a disinfecting soap.
